As of this email hurricane Irene is scheduled to arrive in central VA Saturday, the 27th of August, in the evening with the worst conditions around midnight Saturday night through early Sunday morning. We’d like to take this opportunity to advise you on what you should consider doing to protect your network and data.
- Make sure you have a good backup offsite prior to Saturday afternoon. Consider going into the office after your Friday night’s backup is complete to take the most current data offsite.
- If you need to know when your daily backup is going to be complete please call us.
- Power off all user computers, printers and FAX machines.
- If you are susceptible to extended power outages during events of this nature and are concerned, please contact us and we will assist in scheduling the shutdown of servers and other critical equipment.
If you need to reach GroundForce IT we strongly recommend you call email us or call us on our landline phone. Voicemail’s left on our landline phone numbers are automatically forwarded to email and can be checked remotely.
In the event you cannot reach us via email or landline please call us your engineers mobile phone number.
We will also be monitoring our twitter and FaceBook pages if you prefer to contact us that way:
